Paint Correction

Your vehicle’s paint is one of its most defining features, and over time, it can suffer from scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and other imperfections that dull its shine. At Nomad Wash & Detail, we offer professional Paint Correction services that restore the brilliance of your vehicle’s paint, making it look as good as new. Serving the Bradenton, Sarasota, Lakeland, and Brandon areas, our mobile detailing service brings expert paint correction directly to your location.

Why Paint Correction?

Daily exposure to the elements, improper washing techniques, and minor abrasions can all contribute to the degradation of your vehicle’s paint. These imperfections can detract from your car’s appearance and reduce its value. Paint Correction is a meticulous process that removes these flaws, restoring the depth, clarity, and gloss of your vehicle’s paint. Unlike simple waxing or polishing, Paint Correction involves carefully leveling the paint to eliminate imperfections, resulting in a smooth and flawless finish.

Our Paint Correction Process

At Nomad Wash & Detail, we use a multi-step process to achieve the highest level of paint correction for your vehicle:

  • Detailed Inspection: We start with a comprehensive inspection of your vehicle’s paint to assess the extent of the imperfections and determine the appropriate level of correction needed. This allows us to tailor our approach to your vehicle’s specific needs.
  • Surface Preparation: Before we begin the correction process, we thoroughly wash and decontaminate your vehicle’s exterior to remove any dirt, debris, or contaminants that could interfere with the correction. This includes clay bar treatment to eliminate embedded contaminants.
  • Compounding & Polishing: We use a combination of compounding and polishing techniques to carefully remove a thin layer of clear coat, leveling out scratches, swirl marks, and other imperfections. Our expert detailers use professional-grade products and equipment to achieve a flawless finish without causing additional damage to the paint.
  • Final Polishing: After the correction process, we apply a final polishing step to enhance the shine and clarity of the paint. This step brings out the true brilliance of your vehicle’s color and ensures a mirror-like finish.
  • Paint Protection: To preserve the results of the Paint Correction, we recommend applying a protective layer such as a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating. This helps protect your vehicle’s paint from future damage and maintains its glossy appearance for longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our services.

Paint correction is for fixing damage that is not through the clear coat. If the base layer of paint has been damaged we can help minimize the appearance but not fully eliminate the damage.

Swirl marks can be caused by a variety of factors, but the biggest one is automatic car washes, washing a vehicle with rough or abrasive towels and brushes, dirt being drug across the surface and someone waxing or buffing a vehicle without full knowledge of the process.

Toothpaste is not recommended to be used for scratch removal or headlight restoration. Leave the toothpaste for your teeth.

Most swirl marks can be removed with a 1, 2 or 3 step paint correction depending on the severity of the swirl. If you can feel the swirl or scratch with your thumbnail, it will be too deep to be fully removed. A proper paint correction can greatly reduce the visibility of deep swirl marks and eliminate small ones entirely.

Polishing is part of the paint correction process which helps remove micro swirl marks, and also bring luster back to the paint. Waxing is protecting your vehicle but not fixing any damage. It helps protects against future damage but can also add additional shine.

If the scratch is in the clear coat ONLY, we can remove it. If it is in the base, we cannot.

How much is it to buff out a scratch on a car? depending on the size of the scratch or quantity, you can expend to pay for a wash to clean the surface, clay bar of at minimum the scratch area/panel, and if necessary compounding, polishing and re-waxing the affected area. A single panel can be as low as $200 to as high as $300. And $50 to $100 for each additional panel.
